The new namespace for the internet.
CodeMark turns any barcode into a unique, verified digital identity for your business. Claim your code once, attach your business profile, and every scan resolves directly to your website, contact details, and brand story — no app required. Buy, sell, and trade code marks in a trusted marketplace where ownership is provable and transferable.
CodeMark is built for brands, small businesses, creators, and resellers who want a permanent, verifiable presence on every scan — whether you run a single shop or manage names across many countries. Each registration is cryptographically attested by the registry, so buyers and partners can independently confirm that a name and the profile behind it really belong to you.
The platform is built and maintained by the CodeMark registry team, the stewards of the CodeMark namespace. We operate the claim, verification, and renewal systems, run the marketplace, and safeguard the integrity of the registry so that every CodeMark remains unique, portable, and provably yours for the life of your term.
Every scan resolves to you
Each barcode is a unique, verified digital identity. A single scan sends people straight to your website, contact details, and brand story — no app required.
Provably yours
Ownership is recorded in the registry the moment you mint. Your code mark is verifiable, transferable, and yours to keep.
Point it anywhere
Attach and update your business profile any time. Change where scans go without reprinting a thing.
Buy, sell, trade
List your code mark in the marketplace. Ownership transfers cleanly, so the good names get valuable.
The advantages of securing your CodeMark
A secured CodeMark is more than a barcode — it's a verifiable claim on a name, a permanent scan destination, and a registration you control.
Verified registration
Your registration is recorded in the registry against your account. The CM · Secured mark signals a registered CodeMark under your verified control — like ™ for the barcode namespace.
One scan, one destination
Every scan of your barcode resolves straight to your business profile or website. No redirects through middlemen, no expiring link trees.
A permanent identity
Names get taken and platforms come and go. Your barcode is a stable, portable handle that stays yours across every channel.
Protected from squatters
Once you secure a name, no one else can claim it. Your CodeMark can't be registered out from under you.
Tradeable asset
List your secured CodeMark on the marketplace, set a price, and transfer registration to a buyer in a single verified transaction.
Works anywhere
Print it, embed it, put it on packaging or signage. Any phone's camera can read it, and it always points back to you.
Why it matters
Why registering your name becomes valuable in a secured registry
A secured registry turns a claimed name from a label into a finite, transferable, verifiable asset. Here's what makes that valuable as adoption grows.
Scarcity & permanence
Once a name→identity mapping is recorded on the registry it can't be silently reassigned. That permanence is what makes the identity durable — the record you build trust on can't be diluted.
A portable, verifiable identity
A registered name becomes a trust anchor any system can resolve to a business profile and cryptographically confirm. A claimed, human-readable name bridges an identity and real-world reputation.
Interoperable across systems
One registered name can resolve across payments, attestations, provenance and content. Network effects compound around early-registered names, so short, brandable names tend to be claimed first.
Provenance & transferability
A tamper-evident transfer history makes every transfer auditable. Registry escrow is possible because the registry provides a verifiable chain of registration.
Platform resistance
A name anchored to the registry isn't hostage to any single platform's deplatforming. For brands, that's insurance: their identity survives even if a social network or app store removes them.
The catch: value only accrues if the registry is actually resolvable and actually scarce. Names nobody resolves to — or that can be minted in infinite variants — stay worthless. That's exactly the gap CodeMark closes: claim once, resolve everywhere, transfer with a verifiable history, and prove registered control with a cryptographic attestation.
How ownership is proven
Cryptographic attestation, not blockchain
CodeMark proves ownership with a cryptographic attestation — a digital signature over your asset's identity fields, issued by the CodeMark registry. It gives you provable, transferable, tamper-evident ownership without wallets, gas fees, or a public chain.
Cryptographic attestation
When you claim a name, the registry takes your asset's identity fields (name, serial, owner, term) and signs them with a secret registry key using HMAC-SHA256. The result is a short signature that proves the CodeMark registry vouches that this exact name belongs to this owner at this time.
- Tamper-evident: change any field and the signature no longer matches.
- Verifiable by anyone: a buyer or marketplace can re-run the same check against the registry — no wallet, no gas.
- Registry-backed: re-issued on transfer and renewal, so there's a clean chain of title in a resolvable registry.
Blockchain (what we don't use)
A blockchain is a public, decentralized ledger shared across many computers. Every transfer is written into a shared chain of blocks. To claim or transfer an asset you typically need a crypto wallet and pay gas fees per transaction, and ownership lives on that chain — powerful, but it adds real friction: wallet setup, fees, and a public record anyone can crawl.
- Requires a wallet and gas fees on every transaction.
- Ownership lives on a public chain anyone can crawl.
The short version: blockchain proves ownership via a shared public ledger you must join and pay into; cryptographic attestation proves ownership via a signed, verifiable receipt issued by the CodeMark registry. You get provable, transferable, tamper-evident ownership — without wallets, gas, or a public chain.
Why it matters
Protect your business name with CodeMark
Your business name is how customers find, trust, and distinguish you. CodeMark turns it into a provable, resolvable, renewable asset — backed by a registry signature no one can forge.
Why the registry key can't be forged
Keyed signature
Only the CodeMark registry holds the secret key, so only the registry can produce a signature that matches a record. Anyone can read a signed claim — nobody but the registry can forge one.
Collision-resistant
SHA-256 makes it computationally infeasible to find two different records with the same hash. Alter one character — a name, the term, the owner — and the signature changes completely and no longer matches.
Tied to your exact asset
The signature covers your name, serial, owner id, and term. Two different businesses get two different signatures, and neither can be repurposed to impersonate the other.
Why protect your name with CodeMark
One resolvable identity
Each name maps to a unique barcode and serial in the registry that resolves to your business profile and links — one scannable, verifiable point of truth for who you are online.
Proof of claim, not just availability
Anyone can grab a similar handle elsewhere. A CodeMark attestation is a cryptographic, registry-signed proof that this name was claimed by this owner at this time, for this term.
Tamper-evident ownership
Because of the HMAC-SHA256 signature, no one can forge or silently alter your registration. A record that doesn't match its signature is instantly exposed as invalid.
Transferable, renewable value
You hold the registration for a fixed term, you can renew it, and you can list or transfer it in the marketplace — the attestation is re-issued on transfer so chain of title stays clean.
Rights-aware screening
High-profile and trademark names are screened before checkout, so you don't pay to register something that conflicts with an existing trademark and get stuck in a dispute.
Independent of any platform
Unlike a social username, your CodeMark identity isn't owned by a platform and can't be revoked by an algorithm or policy change. You own the claim and it resolves wherever you point it.
Different from a QR code, by design.
A QR code is a way to carry data. A CodeMark is a claimable, verifiable name identity backed by a machine-readable barcode. One is a format; the other is an asset.
You can even print a CodeMark as a QR for scan convenience — what makes it different is the registry ownership behind it.
Why CodeMark, not GS1 or a reseller?
GS1 owns the product barcode world. CodeMark is the brand-identity barcode world — reserve a name, point scans at you, and trade it.
